Is Glenmac High Country Farm located in a private setting?
Yes! Spread over an impressive 1583 hectares, the homestead is situated a long distance from the main road and is tranquil, private and quiet!

How far away is Oamaru?
Oamaru is a popular visitor town and is only 60km's from Glenmac.

Are there any restaurants or cafes close by?
Yes. Kurow is only 14km's away from Glenmac and the township boasts a Visitor Information Centre, restaurants, cafes and shops.

A range of accommodation options is available to suit your budget and holiday style, including bed and breakfast, backpackers plus campervan and tent sites.

Is Glenmac suitable for children?
Glenmac Farmstay is very family friendly and offers a great selection of outdoor pursuits to keep the entire family entertained.

How many people can stay in the backpackers hostel?
The hostel has beds for 13 guests. Rates include all linen, plus use of a shared TV lounge plus full kitchen facilities. Evening cooked meals are also available.

We are backpacking without a vehicle, how can we get to Glenmac?
Farm access is easy to navigate and shuttle bus transportation is available with The Cook Connection which runs daily, including stops at Mt Cook, Tekapo, Twizel, Omarama, Otematata, Kurow (Glenmac Farmstay), Duntroon, Oamaru and Glentanner.

We have both! The Campervan Park and camping area is situated in a picturesque rural setting within the high country farm and has shower, toilet, laundry and full kitchen facilities available for use.

Are we able to go horse trekking at Glenmac?
You most certainly can! Our quiet farm hacks and experienced trekking guides can take you on a wonderful ride over tussock and undulating lush farmland boasting stunning scenery and views from the mountains to the sea.

What other local attractions are there to do?
Plenty! If you go to the Waitaki Valley & Kurow section of this Website you will find an entire article listing great things to see and do in the area, including gliding, horse trekking, nature walks, mountain biking, golf, gliding, fishing, jet boating, hunting, fossil hunting, ski-ing and much, much more.
